Net started out slow with only KL7XJ checking in on 146.52 FM. We
QSY to 144.200 at 9:10 am and picked up KL6M and KL4E to round out the net.

Discussion:
1- June 2014 ARRL VHF Contest starts at 10am after net NEXT
week! So the net will run 146.52 for ten minutes checkin followed
by 144.200 USB and flow into the contest at end of net. My plans are
to run all bands 6m-23cm on Saturday (June 14) from the home station,
and run as rover from Diamond Ridge (1100 feet) above Homer in BO49
on Sunday with target time of 11:00-12:30 a we will drive down Sunday
morning (2-hour drive) plus time to set up antennas. But I have some
tech issues to work out for 223.50, 432.200, and 927.5 for roving so
they are somewhat in limbo at present.
2- KL4E volunteered to bring the 900-MHz repeater down from KL7FZ to
the Hamfest for KL7UW to take home for benchwork. I will attempt to
get it working and will hook it up to my 33 element loop yagi for
testing. But a permanent home is needed for this repeater preferably
on the Anchorage Hillside. A high gain omni antenna will be needed
for that and run of hardline to whatever tower to be used.
3- K5TRA, Tom, who is in Austin, Tx and a member of the Roadrunners
MIcrowave Group has offered an Allstar node for 900-MHz. If it of
enough interest it would be only networked with similar node in No.
Calif. and Tx with groups who share mw weak-signal interests (NOT
open to world-wide use). Allstar works like IRLP by providing
internet linking of radios.
4. Kenai Hamfest is Sat. July 12:

Looking for programs and presenters - any ideas?
This announcement was in the June AARC Newsletter, and will be
repeated for July.

I am snowed under with work building two transverters under contract
and working on getting my dish operational (mechanical structure
work) and my 2m-8877 controller back operational. Plus re-installing
my 2m board into my KX3 which I plan to use rovering with a 30w amp
which needs new transistor installed; TR needs set up for 432
transverter and restoring xtal oscillator function; 900 antenna is
needed (to be built) if I run 927.5 rovering. A lot to accomplish
this week! So rover plans may get modified?
