Paul,

Poor choice of words. I meant I chose not to operate eme for the
contest. Moon was at the lowest declination so very limited view,
plus I needed to spend the evening with my wife (movie night).

I will probably try some eme this coming weekend with higher
declination angles. The dish is ready for its initial test on the
Moon with 50w on 1296. Then I will remove the septum feedhorn and
modify the supports for the new W2IMU horn which arrived last
Monday. When it is tested and installed the dish will be QRV on
1296-eme. The IMU horn will theoretically improve received signals
by 3-dB due to much lower sidelobes (spillover temp <20K).

I installed a 80-lb counterweight on the dish yesterday. This places
a lot less stress on the elevation actuator. I have some cable
cleanup and one to pull thru the buried conduit and four dish back
braces to replace, but the dish is functional now.

Next project is digging a hole for the concrete tower base for the
6-element 6m yagi and then finishing the 800-1100w sspa for 6m
MS/EME. Hoping to have it QRV by end of October.
