Eric,
Only one observation. At the beginning of the contest (1800utc -10am
AKDST) most of us will be actively chasing contacts on VHF-SSB and
FM. I think interest in trying digital modes may exist after the
initial "rush" of the start of the contest. It is likely that 6m
will not open for DX in this contest, but if it does then all other
modes (and bands) take back seat.
I am interested in trying some ms with stations during the contest
and may also work some 2m-eme. I am working on finishing my 1296
system today, and if wx holds I will try setting up my 6m 6-element
yagi temporarily on a tripod supported ten foot mast. Time is short
with wx a hassle.
432 and 927.5 are both a little "iffy". I have a Rx problem in the
432 transverter and need to lower the 2m 3eme array to install relays
and jumper cables to install 927.5. This is really two full days of
"good wx" work. I will not lower the eme array if there is threaten
of winds as I could end up stuck with it lowered on Saturday.
