[AK-VHF] ARRL VHF Contest starts 14 Sep at 10am local time

Yes, it's okay to make skeds before the contest begins. No skeds are allowed to be made during the contest unless they are made via amateur radio. Contacting someone on another band and asking them for a sked is okay. Spotting stations and announcing frequencies via the internet is forbidden in ARRL contests.

Paul

Thanks, Paul, for the additional ideas and info.

Here is a little more info:
W7IV/KL7 "Paul F. Merrill" <marinesvcs at gmail.com> is not a member of
the AK VHF-Up Group so if you want to sked Paul, contact him directly
by e-mail a he is not getting these messages (I am cc him on this e-mail).

Ron Thompson <ve8rt at xplornet.com> in Yellow Knife, NWT (DP22) is
1190mi east of me so is also within range for ms.  I think Ron is in
the building stage so not likely ready for the Sept. VHF.  But keep
him in mind for future contests.

As far as I can determine, you CAN make schedules (skeds) for making
contacts with specific stations if it is done before the contests
begins!  MS and EME can benefit from skeds.  Real time
"self-spotting" your callsign, calling freq. and times are not
allowed by the rules.  K7CW might know more about this.

Here is some info for making a computer interface for running WSJT on
your radio:

All parts are available from Radio Shack.

GL all, see you Saturday!

nothing much accomplished on this windy/rainy day!
