[AK-VHF] Net: 9am Saturday March 9 - 146.52FM

Had a good net, today:

The VX6R failed to work and had no time to figure out why (later
determined the sma connector on the antenna lead was not fully
engaged; I tested the VX6R at 2m with only 3.5w output in the 5w
setting - so much for truth in advertising). With 3.5w drive my
Mirage B108 outputs 31w. I can get 50w with a true 5w input so this
is a little disappointing. I received a speaker-mic for the VX6R in
the mail, today! VX6R is mounted on the radio desk for normal use in
the shack.

NET Check-ins:

KL4E S9+10 with about S8 noise floor; excellent signal.
KL3JH was relayed by KL4E as I could only hear a weak signal.

KL7XJ was reported mobile enroute to Anchorage with only a HT so not heard.

A weak signal was heard which upon turning my array south produced
KL7RHJ, Bill in Kenai running a HT with long whip. He came in S9
after the antennas were rotated.

Craig relayed KL7CY/m - not heard by KL7UW

KL3JH checked in from on top the hill above KL4E with S9 signal
running 5w and S9+10 with 50w from his mobile. sure shows what a
little antenna height will do.

KL6M checked in at the end of net.

next week the net meets on 144.200 USB (Note daylight time is 9am).
