Spent some time tracing the short on my main coax line to the eme
tower and determined the short is in or above the LMR600 line going
up to the antennas from ground level. Good performance into a 50 ohm
load attached to the main line. I did find the coax connectors at
that point were blackened probably from arc over at QRO levels. A
clean up did not clear the dc short on the LMR600 line so I will have
to lower the array tomorrow to find the source of the short.

Because of this I may have to transmit this weekend using my 17-foot
high (9 dBd) vertical base antenna which will lower my signal level
about 10-dB from what I have using the yagi array.

Net this weekend is on 146.52 FM simplex. NL7OW may act as net
control if I am too hard to copy in Anchorage.

Reminder that the January ARRL VHF Contest is next weekend (Jan
19-20). Regular net will be held on 144.200 and be followed with the
contest starting at 10am. I will only be able to run about 10-15 min
of the contest before heading to work.
