Just received notice that my new radio, Elecraft KX3, will be shipped
this week (6/20-27) so should have it soon for addition to the shack.

I have an older Down East Microwave 2m transverter that I plan using
with it. Addition of a digital-synthesized LO to the transverter
will enable full use of 144-148 MHz by switching LO freq. and that
will allow me to get back on the repeater sub-band. This will also
enable full power for running the Net on 146.52-MHz. I also hope to
put up an 11-element 2m yagi fixed-pointed to Anchorage at 40-feet
for use on the FM section of 2m.

Eventually, Elecraft plans for market a 144/50 MHz transverter to be
internally installed in the KX3, making the radio capable of 160m-2m operation.

So I will seek time-off from work from Wal-mart for the day of the
Hamfest (14July). I have planned a talk and demo of the radio. My
attendance at the Hamfest is still uncertain.

So far I have three positive reactions to moving the AK-VHF Net to
Sunday 4-5pm. Any more comments? I would like more comment before
undertaking this. If it is favorable the first net will occur on
Sunday (1July).
