HI All,
You may recall that I started working for Wal-Mart a few weeks ago
and have my new work schedule for next two weeks. It looks like I
will be able to do the Net 9am this Saturday (16June) as I work
11am-8pm, but not on 23June as I work 10am-7pm. It takes 45-min
travel time to get to Wal-Mart from home.
The net this week will meet on 144.200 to put things back to the
normal sequence of SSB on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the
month. 23June is FD so I suggest the net be cancelled because I
suspect many will be participating on FD.
I will not have my work schedule for the final week of June until
later in the month, so will not know if I can host Net Control on 30June.
-------
Side note on the June VHF Contest: I hope many of you enjoyed the
extra activity provided by our rovers. Be sure to send in your entry
log as it demonstrates to ARRL that there is VHF activity in
Alaska. And you might even have top score for the AK Section and
receive an award. I just received the June 2011 Section award for
50-MHz, Low-Power in the mail last week. I wonder who received the
award for 144 or 432 MHz?
Rovers have their own class so KL3JI/R or KL7YK/R have a chance at that award.
There is an on-line portal for sending in your entry. Also, please
enter Alaska VHF-Up Group for the club entry. Use this exact
spelling as ARRL automated contest entry robot will accept only this.
-------
Final Note: I am QRV with 25w on 432-MHz SSB and need only to
reinstall my tower-top relay/preamp box to use my M2 11-element yagi
at 58-feet.

If I can get that done tomorrow morning we can try 432.100 during
Saturday's net. I have Tuesdays off work the next two weeks so can
participate in the Simplex Net on 19th and 26th of June.
