Wishing all in the Alaska VHF-Up Group the best for the holidays!

Some updates: I recently sold my RF Concepts 2m amplifier that was
running at 90w and bought another RF Concepts amp that is giving me
150w output on 2m-SSB/CW. This should boost my signal a bit into the
Anchorage area (it arrived today). For FM/digital I probably will
run it at 130w.

I have been cleaning out the shack and have traded out a lot of
equipment so currently do not have the 430 band (waiting for a new
25w transverter expected in late Jan. 2012). I also cannot operate
much above 146-MHz, though 146.52 can be used at about 10w. Perhaps
that will drive the new amp to above 50w. My four 2m yagis have high
SWR above 146.

I'm working on my 1296-eme system and may move the 60w amp over to be
used by the terrestrial antenna in time for the Jan. ARRL VHF
Contest. Also may have new 33-elem loop-yagi and 100w for 927-MHz FM
ready(??).

Final note I started working tonight on building a new 222
transverter (25w) so it may be ready by the Jan. contest. I have two
11-element yagis at 60-feet for 222. I will be able to operate
222-224. Operation above that is questionable but it may be possible
to transmit at 224.30/224.90 (KL7AA repeater). I won't have the 150w
amp ready but that is also in the works.

The Jan. 21-22 is the Contest weekend (10am start time).

The NET this Saturday - Dec. 24 will be on IRLP/Echolink/Allstar at
9am Alaska time.
