I'm guilty too but will bail you, Randy and any ADXA members out of jail if need be.73Mike kb5wbhBest DX everyone! On Sat, Sep 19, 2026, 9:57 PM Dennis Schaefer via ADXA <[email protected]> wrote:Randy, I’m sure it’s just a coincidence, and nothing to worry about, no sir, nothing at all to worry about, but today I got a questionnaire as a potential juror for the U. S. Federal court for the 2027 term. They must be getting ready for a big effort of some kind, to scrape that low from the barrel. The upside is that if you get hauled before the court, I can inform my fellow jurors what OQRS means!Hey, maybe if I tell them that I am an actual participant in OQRS, they will reject me!But nah, nothing to worry about! :). :)73,Dennis/RZ______________________________________________________________On Sat, Sep 19, 2026 at 12:46 PM Randell Curtis, W5ZJ via ADXA <[email protected]> wrote:I started thinking about ADXA and DX in general and how much trouble it has caused.______________________________________________________________
Recently, while checking the bank account to see if I had enough money in it to pay this month's bills, I noticed an alarming thing. It seems the bank has flagged some of my purchases from paypal. I gave them a call and it seems that they were flagged because of suspected money laundering.
According to them I have sent too much money to foreign countries (for OQRS QSLs , and maybe the amplifier parts I ordered from Greece were involved in this too).
Not having ever laundried money, except for the occasional change left in a pants pocket on wash day, I was completely shocked.
It was today that I realized that if I go to jail over this, it is because of bad company I have been keeping and the addiction my friends have enabled me to have.
Remember, it all starts with one QSL, but suddenly leads to needing multiple confirmations each day, and no cost is too much.
I wonder if they have a program to assist with this addiction. I know if I get jail time over this, it wil probably hurt my DXing for a bit.
