Bill, I'm definetely familiar with the Cushcraft 5 element. I bought the cushcraft 5 element I am currently using for $100 from a local ham. As soon as I got it home. I discarded the boom and replaced it with a longer boom and added an element to make it 6 elements. I still don't think even with the mods it can perform near as good as some of the other commercial antennas.
I would start building another 6 meter antenna, but at the moment I need the 3 ham radio projects I've got going to a satisfactory conclusion. Hopefully, I will be able to update soon on these 3 things.
All the best!

TKS, Randy…I probably spend too much time on it but it is due for an update, for sure. Your page is excellent – congrats on the EA8 on 6 this morning…nothing printing here from EU! Need a better antenna than the “Crushcraft” 5 element…it’s
not even close to M2 or homebrew from W5ZJ. Your homebrew prowess is impressive…keep it up!

GM Bill. I saw you, Rick, and a few others on 6 this morning. I've been checking out your QRZ page which I found to be really cool.
Happy Independence day to all!
