After ordering parts from Greece for Bertha, I received an invoice online to pay import tax on the parts I received. I thought this was a scam since I have purchased parts from them not long ago and had no additional taxes.
Today I actually received an invoice from FedEX with an explanation. The invoice shows an import code of HTS 9903.03.01 Here is what AI shows on this.
HTS 9903.03.01 denotes a 10% ad valorem temporary import duty imposed on all products from any country under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974. This surcharge is strictly enforced from 12:01 a.m. EST on February 24, 2026, through 12:01 a.m. EDT on July 24, 2026
Apparently government or FedEX math is not the same math I learned in highschool. Their 10% equals right at 20% when all the little stuff gets tacked on.
I write this to let you know that if you are ordering internationally, wait until after July 24 if at all possible.
