Thanks, Randy.  It is very similar, but I think it is maybe a Force 12 Delta-II 240 which is slightly different.  I’m going to keep the manual in my collection, though!  I appreciate your help for a fellow ham.

Stan - thanks for the good info.  It turns out to have a coil at the center of both elements.  They call them “hairpin coils”.  I’m aware that both are inductors, but they confused me momentarily with their terminology.  The reflector coil has a turn or two more than the DE coil.

He thinks is is a Delta-II 240 and has a manual now.  Even if it is a slight variation, he should be able to get it going using your tuning advice.

Thanks, 73,
Dennis/RZ

If it is Delta c-240, here is the manual for it.

If both the driven elements and reflector are split in the center, I would assume that the coil would go between the two halves of the reflector and the hairpin would go between the two halves of the driven element to bring the impedance of the driven element up from some lower number to 50 ohms.  I would reassemble it like that and raise it up about 40 feet and see what it looks like on an analyzer.  If it shows a good SWR too low (like below 7.0 MHz by about 50 khz you would probably be good to go as it will move higher when it is up at 60 feet or so.

I’m also assuming that the elements are identical and the reflector is resonant lower than the DE because of the coil in the center.
