There are a couple of "difficult to work on a wire" DX stations on now. S21WD and XX9W. A few days ago I was able to work the S21, but I had never heard the XX9. I did have XX9 on 20 meter CW from 1995, but I did want to work them again for a possible digital confirmation.
I did finally see the XX9 yesterday evening on 12 ft8, and surprisingly was able to work them with the 80 meter raised inverted L and 400 watts. I think Debbie got them shortly after I did with tremendously better signals on TX and RX!
I noticed Jussi had reported Uganda on 80. I took a quick listen and nothing was heard. I did get up and listen for them again about sunrise there. They were being reported on 40, but still nothing heard from here. I think this would be a new one for me.
A new amp is under construction. I am progressing like a herd of turtles. My goal is to be able to transmit better than I can hear. When I acheive this, I will work on the RX. It seems my TX and RX is like eating chips and dip, they never come out equal.
Have a great day, and good DXing
