One other possibility.

The info that I'm going by:

1. It is not normal hash, but a hum.

2. It started with the additon of a chicken house.

My question.

Is the power feedin the chicken house single phase or 3 phase. If it is single phase, does it have a single phase to 3 phase converter at the chicken house. The 3 phase converter would probably be owned by the customer. I ran this through AI and this is what I see! Check out the info on harmonic distortion.

That I have to find out. One interesting observation though. Now that it is getting darker, the noise is going down. This is of course good news since this is 160m. I hadn't noticed this earlier because I was falsely assuming that it was broadband noise. But it is still 6 dB over the baseline outside the noise spectrum. The fans are still running normally there so it is not them.

The distance between my inv L and the chicken house is 1000' and I can move the antenna so that it would be 1300'. This might help some. Also adding some receiving antennas could eliminate a lot of it.

If the chicken house generates RF hash into the power company power lines, can I get the power company to get the guy to fix it? Are there any laws regarding this?
