I saw this last night on 40 also. I don't know what mode it is, but it did have a CW identifier last night, so I have an idea who was transmitting. I don't know whether it was intentional or not.

1502, 14090, FT8. Was calling F/H, got a response but never confirmed.
Left F/H and kept calling. Finally in the log. It is incredible how
many US hams are calling in the wrong sequence. Are they brand new to
FT8? It is maddening.
