This coming weekend is the second largest CW DX contest, the ARRL International DX Contest. It will start at 0000z Saturday (6:00 PM Friday night local time) and run until 2359z Sunday. The objective is to work DX stations so don’t call another USA or VE station. It is of no point value whatsoever. Your exchange will be a signal report and state, so 599 AR for those of us in Arkansas. The DX station will send a report and their power level, e.g., 400, 1K, etc. Remember “cut” numbers may be sent so don’t be confused by a power level of “NN” for 99 or 5TT for 500.
This is a great opportunity for you to pick up a new one on CW or on a new band. Hey! Maybe even an all time new one.
ADXA will have three BIG GUN members on site at Cayman Brac operating ZF5T: Ken N5EE, Bill W5SJ, and Stan K5GO. Since they are not in the USA you can “GET IN THERE” and work them and help out. Another ADXA BIG GUN Kevin N5DX will most likely be operating his VA1EET station but since it is Canada it is of no point value for you to work him, but that doesn’t exclude you from giving him moral support and wishes for great prop!
Who among the ADXA folks will work ZF5T on all six bands, 160 thru 10 ?? I challenge each of you to do so!
