This is a sad day. Having lived in Russellville for 40+ years, I was much aware of Melissa's volunteer work as described in her ham bio. And she always had a smile and pleasant conversation when we met at ARVARF functions (and ADXA ones too).

I wish you the best in your readjustment, Dennis. I know it will be difficult but hopefully it will come in time.

She was N5HX, but most proud of her Advanced class license before Extra.  She was president of the local club, as well as secretary, board member, etc.  She was active in storm spotting, Red Cross, ARES/RACES, VE testing, helping run the hamfest, and many other things.   She also taught in licensing classes.  Health problems kept her radio activities limited in recent years but she was still interested and happy to sit and crochet while I did a POTA activation.
