ADXA Folks,

Our Articles of Association allows for a membership classification of “Honorary Life Member”. The requirements are for the candidate to have reached the age of 75 and having been an ADXA member for 15 years. Recommendations may be made by any active full member and shall require a three-fourths (3/4) majority vote of full members at any regular quarterly meeting.

During the “New Business” agenda item during the upcoming March quarterly meeting I plan to nominate Dennis Shafer, W5RZ, for consideration as an ADXA Honorary Life Member. I have discussed this with the ADXA board and a review confirms he meets the requirements.

Honorary Life Membership in ADXA is not taken lightly. It has been reserved for members who have made a major contribution to ADXA, DX’ing, and amateur radio. I don’t believe I need to submit a resume of Dennis’ activities and accomplishments in DX’ing and amateur radio however, if someone would like to review such before the meeting please let me know and I will gladly provide one.
