A merry band of ADXA folks including KM5G, N5DX and W5ZN are traveling to ZF today and tomorrow to join K5GO at his ZF5T Multi/Multi contest station for the biggest and baddest CW DX contest of the year this coming weekend, the CQ Worldwide DX Contest. Other operators arriving onsite tomorrow include KO7SS, W9RE, NE9U, K1CC, and K0AP. Operators for 20 meters joining remotely this weekend include W1VE, VE9AA, W0AAE, and W5SJ.

ADXA folks are requested to support your fellow ADXA members and work us on all HF bands (excluding 30-17-12 meters). The contest begins at 0000z Saturday (that’s Friday night 6:00 PM local time) and runs until 2359z Sunday (5:59 PM local). The exchange for this contest is signal report and CQ zone. In Arkansas you are in Zone 4, so 599 4. You may hear what is known as “cut numbers”. For example, 5NN or even ENN for 599 and cut numbers for the zone like N for zone 9, A4 for zone 14, and AN for zone 19. The ZF5T station is located in Zone 8.

You are also greatly encouraged to “GET IN THERE” and join the fun and work as many DX stations as possible with your station. There will be TONS of DX on all the bands and a perfect opportunity for you to increase your DXCC Mixed and DXCC Challenge totals, your DXCC CW numbers, individual DXCC band counters, or your WAZ award totals.

*****PLEASE NOTE***** for those of you here at home, working other USA stations does not add any points to your total or the other USA station’s score outside of the initial zone multiplier only. This is a DX contest so please do NOT run up and down the bands working USA stations as it is of no value. For ZF5T, which is not located in the same country, we can work as many USA stations as possible. The rule states “Contacts between stations in the same country have zero (0) QSO point value, but count for zone and country multiplier credit”.
