I don't know the sequence of events, but I do know that your RX has been excellent as compared to mine this past week. The night of the aurora you had a bunch of good rx reports from Europe, and even last night when I wasn't  seeing any Europe your had gotten a decode from there. What I did do was attempt to make a comparison in the USA, and in my favored direction, you appeared to be receiving much better on most stations.

I managed to get rid of the wall wart yesterday evening. So, before that my RX has been down by about 6 dB at least. Having a quiet place for antennas is super important for 160 (and 80).

The next task is to take down the spiderbeam antenna and use the left over 50' Al telescope mast for the new inverted L. Right now the vertical section of my inv L is way too short. It works somewhat on 80 but not on 160.

ps. If anyone has use for a 5 band HD spiderbeam, let me know. It is 3 el yagi for 20m, 2 el for 17, 3 el for 15, 2 el for 12, and 4 el for 10; all from one feedline. Fiberglass construction, so it is very light weight and can be put up on most aluminum telescope masts.
