For those that don't know. The antenna I am using is 160m Inverted L with the feed point on the west end and goes up about 50ft then across to the east as horizontal as I could get it. Total length is around 127ft. I have another 160m Inverted L that us up but not hooked up at the moment its feed point is southwest and runs to the northwest. Im lucky to have tall trees in the right places around my place.

Subject: [ADXA] Wednesday Pennant update
Here is what I have learned since yesterday.
1. I originslly thought my pennant was working in reverse. I was wrong. After receiving a few JA stations, yesterday, on what I thought was off the rear, I reversed the direction thinking I would get up this morning and work into Japan. When my reference station, Mike KB5WBH started receiving Alaska this morning, and I had nothing, I began to think something was amiss. To figure out this enigma, I knew there was nothing to do but go out into the dark and cold in my “early morning broadcast uniform” and reverse the pennant direction. After much shivering, I managed to git er done, and was immediately rewarded with a JA decode.
2. The second item I learned this AM was that “Randy’s law” is roughly the equivalent of “Murphy’s”. In my attempt to quickly work the DX, my first transmission was into the pennant. In a split second I had changed the turns ratio from a 4:1 into a 4:0. Yes, I could fix this with the parts I have laying on the bench, but apparently I subconsciously enjoy winding transformers more than wiring a relay to switch the pennant during receive. I sure wish I could blame MY error on Murphy.
I am currently looking at used golf clubs on Facebook marketplace. I am sure golf would be much easier to master than the 160 meter band.
Have a wonderful day, and good DXing!
Randy, W5ZJ
