I think George has been reading "The Art of War".   He just wants us to take him lightly!   He's still way ahead and if he can get up a decent antenna for 80, he'll pull away even further.  I can see a 65 foot pole in the front yard for "Christmas lights".

Don't think we believe a word of it, George - we've known you too long!  You're the top dog in the valley.  Lead the way - we'll be yapping at your heels and wondering what to do if we actually catch that car :)

Subject: [ADXA] End of the year contemplation's

It's getting harder and harder to stay ahead in the Challenge Points lead with Charles, John, Dennis and Lanny nipping at my heels on a daily basis.  Come on guys, give me a break.

-- Charles is on a 300' mountaintop that is blocking me in several directions, plus his new HexBeam.

-- John's 40m dipole must be set up just right, plus several cascaded pre-amps and the "7KW" he claims he runs.

-- Dennis is on the side of a mountain with "acres" of woodlands to hang wires in.

-- And I'm positive that Lanny has been syphoning off Joel's antenna farm.

You can see that I don't stand a chance much longer in the race against just these "friends", not counting all the other Superstitions in the area, of which does not include mine.

So my little city lot has all kinds of restrictions as to where I can put antennas (and I don't mean HOA or covenients), just physical locations with 5 EFHW's already strung up all over the place.  I guess I need to figure out how to get a 80/40m vertical incorporated into my labyrinth of wires, powerlines and trees.

I do have a single spot in the FRONT yard where in the past, I've had a 20' Christmas tree for my light show.  But using that location will eliminate one of my EFHW antennas that was overlooked in my display planning, as that mounting hole is directly below the wire -- and I mean DIRECTLY.  Obviously, I never looked up when digging and putting in the concrete and PCV base for the tree.

Well, that's my rant for 2024.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all ADXA members.  I really do wish all of you all of the great achievements you can attain in 2025, even when they outshine my humble attempts.  I'll still be your #1 cheerleader in your efforts.
