Chuck,
The topic of the station chair is a priority here also. I have had a nice chair that has worked well but it is becoming old and worn (and so am I). As you follow the contest chatter you know some folks are recommending the chairs that the on-line competitive gaming kids use. My 14 year old grandson just convinced his dad (WB5IGF) to purchase one for him. I should check it out.
If I like it, maybe I can convince him to buy his poor old dad one !!!!! 😊
When I go to N2CEI/K0DI in Florida for the ARRL 160 contest, Steve has the radios/keyboard on a high desk. When you stand up you are at a comfortable level. He has very comfortable chairs to sit it, up high, when you don’t want to stand but I always liked that set up because you didn’t have to sit all the time and radio/keyboard was at a comfortable level either way.

Subject: [ADXA] CQWW Weekend
Guys,
Here are my observations from last weekend:
Conditions were absolutely bonkers. Unlike Joel, I didn’t notice a significant drop off in signal strength to JA on Sunday afternoon. In fact I was amazed at the number of JA & other Asian stations on Sunday. Usually they drop off on Sunday, as they have to go to work.
What are the odds that both K1LZ & KC1XX would have the exact same number of QSOs in the MM category (12,434) in their raw scores?
What a horse race between ZF5T & V47T. Down to the wire.
The only mishap at the station during the contest was my lower beam getting hung-up & stuck in a tree. At least it got stuck SE, which was my preferred direction. I have some serious negotiations ahead with my XYL on tree removal.
The BIC philosophy that has been discussed previously on the reflector seems to get harder & harder. I have spent a lot of time on chairs, back support, & station ergonomics in the past, but it is still a work in progress.
My main goal for 2025 will be to improve antennas on 80/160, as they are terrible.
Great to see all the participants from ADXA…
