Yes, unless they were giving an incorrect grid square. WH6EY and NL8F are both in HI and AK according to QRZ. Conditions must have been good because I was transmitting 50 watts out of the radio. Then through 160' of RG-213 to a dipole.

Where they REALLY in HI and AK? So many are in the Lower 48 now. I always check their GridSquare before I seriously try to work any of those calls nowadays.
