One thing I noted that might not be good was decoding the Super Fox. I tuned to a band of interest and could audibly hear the transmission of scattered tones just fine. I couldn’t get a decoded transmission for around 20 minutes before I saw
it “verified”. That might not be good in a small propagation window of opportunity. I don’t know if it was because they weren’t transmitting the verification properly or my Super hound wouldn’t verify???
It’s frustrating to hear the signal but the software doesn’t. That sets up a long wait time before you can start calling……
Worked N5J on 14.091 at 5:36 local time. Very nice signal, +10 to +01.
I watched for about 30 minutes after my contact & noticed a lot fewer
RR73's than signal reports. It also appears that the Fox station
doesn't repeat the signal reports like regular F/H does. There's been
complaints that SF doesn't work well in real life. So far I haven't had
a problem myself but I can see the possibility of broken QSO's . Is
Superfox ready for primetime?
