My apologies for the abbreviated post from my phone Wednesday afternoon. Caregiving has been upside down and I was asleep when Bob texted me at 10:37 local for a sked.

My good friend W3CFE/4X5CE operated from W1AW this morning. Bob holds dual citizenship and while at his apartment in Jerusalem or in his Suburu operates HF through his remote on a hill in my hometown: Springfield, VT. He works SSB and CW primarily. I met Bob as K3LJO in Washington, DC on 15M AM on January 5, 1961 (SSB was in its infancy) before he moved to Vermont to work at the VA Hospital as an electronics tech. Our kids grew up together.

BTW, it was eight days after that K3LJO QSO that I met Ken Blevins, K5ALQ, on 15M AM. We were 59+40 both ways and tried to run a phone patch to his nephew in nearby Ludlow, VT (no answer). This was my station 1960-1962 to a 3-element tri-bander before I sold everything to go to college:
