All of this is good info.  The only time, I have personally seen, where you have to worry, is if the business has its own servers.  And the server gets hacked.  Virtually no one does that due to expense, logistics, etc. but some have.  There was a chain in Memphis, a deli, that had their own server, it was hacked and about everyone who had ever shopped there had their credit card compromised.  Amazon is a problem and PayPal is another one.  You never know if it is an inside job or someone has access to their info.  Someone set up an account with one of my gmail addresses for Google ads.  I tried, literally, every thing I could think of to get it stopped but you can't talk to a human at Google so I ignore their emails now.  I would say my credit cards get compromised about every year or two.  If you ever visit The Bahamas,  don't take your regular credit card there.  They have a huge problem with numbers being stolen.

Through the years, I have been notified several times of possible breaches but nothing happened.  I have had a couple of  bad transactions caught by the credit card companies and only once did I even have to give any info.  I suspect that was due to a merchant making an error on someone’s number.   Considering the number of bad actors out there, it’s pretty remarkable how they take care of us.

Don’t forget the North Koreans Dennis!

ARRL uses an independent commercial payment processing service. No credit card info is stored in our system and we do not keep personal information. Ryan is correct in his reasons why we don’t keep that information.

Your credit card information is safe and secure.

I’m not worried about it - millions of Russians and Nigerians probably already have my credit card info!
