Greetings ADXA Folks,
It was good to see some of you at Hamvention in Dayton (actually Xenia that I pronounce it Zener of diode fame), Pat W5VY, Charles KF5TL, Wayne KB9ELS, Dave K5UZ, and Rick K5UR. Also had a nice chat with several DX’ers. Adrian KO8SCA was there along with Don 7Q6M, Alex UT5UY, and many others. Always nice to visit in person with Bernie, W3UR with The Daily DX. If you were there, sorry I missed you. It was a typical Dayton, it rained Friday morning but cleared off by noon with beautiful WX in the afternoon and Saturday. Flex unveiled their new “8000 series” and I know a couple of Flex Kool-Aid drinkers that ordered one. It has some very nice features. Kim and I flew back Sunday on the same flight with Pat.
FT4GL Glorioso is just a few days away. I know several of you are gunning for this one. GL in the pile ups. I need it on 160, 12, and 10. We won’t have an opportunity on 160 but I’ll be lurking among (walking on ?) the mob on 12 and 10.
Our June ADXA meeting on June 15 will be a virtual meeting. We have discussed this on more than one occasion and there was almost unanimous support to do this for June. It was an inconvenience during the summer months for all of us to drive two hours to a convenient meeting location, visit, have a meal and a brief program for two hours then drive back home for two hours. So, we’re going to try a virtual meeting for June and see how that works. We envision it will still be around an hour and a half with a program, we’ll just save four hours of travel time. Meeting details and a Zoom link will be forthcoming.
If you’re not ready for FT4GL you have a few days to finalize any station maintenance or upgrades and your operating strategy, so get ready to “GET IN THERE AND WORK ‘EM!”
