As a follow up, I have been asked off-line if Lanny passed his Technician Class exam. The VE team withdrew it as Lanny convinced them his Amateur Extra Class license, that he has held from waaaay back in old exam days, was sufficient. So, after the meeting he was instructed to go home, call CQ on three bands, and work two DX stations and he would be forgiven!

p.s. As long as the CQ’s and two DX stations were worked in the CORRECT band segment !!!!   😊

Subject: K1LEC Receives US Amateur Band Chart Award

At tonight’s North Central Arkansas Amateur Radio Service club meeting in Searcy, ADXA President W5ZN, on behalf of the ADXA members present (N5QS, N5QT, N5LKE, KI5UCZ, WB5YEY, KG5S) presented K1LEC with a “US Amateur Radio Band Chart Award” following his 40-meter incident last night. After the award presentation, the club’s VE team handed him a Technician Class exam to determine if he understands the basic rules! 😊
