Wow that's a horrible blow to the ham radio community!

I had a nice visit with Dan at one of the ADXA meetings and it was nice surprised to see him there. He looked good and was as sharp as ever.

The first time I met Dan was in Poteau Oklahoma. He was at the Cavanaugh Hill repeater site installing a packet Network. If I remember right that packet Network included all of Northwest Arkansas parts of Oklahoma and possibly even Texas?  He was a one-man machine installing and keeping that Network going. That was over three decades ago if I remember right. Hard to believe that we barely have an internet like we have it today. I used to listen to him every Sunday morning Talk technical stuff with another ham and Northwest Arkansas. It was on the 146.70 machine?

Just hard to believe it was that long ago and hard believe he is now gone! I was very blessed to know him.  Dan was a first class ham radio operator. Prayers to his family. 73 Jay..

Dan Puckett,  K5FXB, the heart and soul of ARCUA, passed away last evening around 8:30 pm at WRMC from multiple organ failure.  Dan was a committed amateur radio operator for more than half of a century, and we will always remember him as a friend to all of us.  Becky will plan a memorial service for a couple of weeks from now.  His body will be cremated through Moore’s Funeral Chapel.
