The more contacts you make, the more band countries will come to you. The WPX SSB at the end of the month should be good too, better DX participation, since they can work each other too.

Contests are always good for band fills. That's how I worked the majority of my DXCC and especially 5BDXCC. If one doesn't have a lot of band counters, one should be very active in all contests.
