EJ, K5EJ, has provided updated DXCC Standing information.  EJ has picked up a new one on Phone and raised his Phone HR number to 339.   He also added 38 new band multipliers to raise his Desoto Challenge number to 2948.   EJ’s goal is to join the exclusive Desoto Challenge 3K Club.  I guess it’s really not exclusive….just very difficult to achieve.  A quick scan of the ARRL DXCC Standings pages show that there are round 1120 Operators with #1 Mixed Honor Roll.  The Desoto Challenge 3000+ holders number is around 120.   No doubt there are some #1 HR holders who have fairly modest stations but who have been around long enough to catch good propagation, DXpedtions and good luck to collect all the entities.  I think to succeed in reaching the Desoto Challenge 3K level you have you have a very good station with effective antennas (TX and RX), and a location that provides good terrain and low noise on 160-6M.
