Ah yes the good ole days of “real RTTY” !!!!

I ran a Kleinschmidt TT-100B. I had a set of 100 WPM gears for it but never used them since the ham activity was at 60.

I still vividly remember the rhythm of the type strokes from the W1AW Bulletins when they sent “QST QST QST de W1AW W1AW W1AW”. A very sweet swing!

I was licensed in 1985 but didn't get interested in DX until late 1987.  Jumped into the deep end with a model 32asr.  East Kiribati was one of my first DX contacts.
