Having just worked China on 15M SSB tonight for the first time since leaving Vermont I pulled the QSL I used for DXCC out of my DXCC album.  I'd forgotten I had an invitation to guest operate while in Beijng in May 1988. Tsinghua University had the only open station in China, but it wasn't to be.  I was with a group of dairy industry people and we had to stick with our tour guide.  Several of us were Rotarians and took a jet foil over to Macao from Hong Kong for a Rotary makeup.  I could see a tribander beam a short distance from the meeting place but, as I approached it, there were all sorts of No Trespassing warnings.  It must have been a government installation.  They didn't revert back to China until 1999.  A most memorable trip to the Orient.
