I've been running the home brew magical 80-6 (at whatever capacity it will send). The IC7300 will self tune everything, so I know the swr is below 3:1 (I think that is the spec). For quite a while, but I switched back to the zs6bkw (g5rv remake) yesterday to talk to my dad in AL (330miles a.t.c.f). I'm guessing the magical vertical takeoff angle is such that it jumps over and we can't hear each other as well late at night on 40m.

I say all that to say, it seems to do well otherwise, but a short skip away not as good. Still haven't gotten around to building a director or reflector for the vertical. I think that may help.

I have options at any rate!

Way to go, Rick…..not hearing him here right now, but congrats!

I hope I can get ‘em on 80…that would make 7 bands.
