We are working feverishly to get ready.  Stan, K5GO, designed a tri-band vertical dipole array for 10, 15 & 20.  Trying to finish it up before the contest…why a vertical dipole when he has tribander yagis, he also designed?  He has found that verticals, so close to the water, have unusually high gain and with the omnidirectional aspect of a vertical, he could get more exposure to the US perhaps than over a Yagi that has at least a 80 degree swing from the east coast to the west coast…Interesting concept.

See us later as ZF5T, multi, single, low power.

Subject: [ADXA] ARRL International DX Contest - CW

The ARRL International DX Contest - CW is this weekend, actually starting at 6:00 PM local time tonight (0000z Feb 18).

USA to USA contacts do not count for points, only USA to DX. The exchange for USA stations is the report and state, e.g. 599 AR. DX stations will send a report and their power, e.g. 599 400 or 599 1k, etc.

There will be a lot of CW DX on the bands 160 thru 10 meters so get in there and pick up a few new ones on CW, or maybe and all time new one.

Rules are posted here: http://www.arrl.org/arrl-dx

My contest effort will be simple and casual. Too many other things going on this weekend.
