Caught Ivo (OP2A/ON5CD) on 17m SSB this afternoon--I needed Belgium. It was just after peak propagation and as signals began to fall off a little. He wasn’t busy, and we had a nice QSO. Like old friends.
He told me we had worked before on FT8 under his alternate callsign. He was running 800w into a big Yagi. I told him thanks for doing the heavy lifting and I was running barefoot into a Hexbeam 10ft off the ground. He said they do amazingly well and a lot of expeditions use them.
I looked at his QRZ page again and watched one of his expedition videos. A very good one on C8T (Mozambique 2018). Check it out if you have the time. Looks like they had fun.

Will send him a card though the bureau.
