Very nice Rick. Your collection is sharing the home page with some DX Legends. That’s a great tribute to your DXing adventures. I’ve spent time scanning the lesnouvellesdx.fr website before. Lots of amateur radio/DXing history there. You have certainly covered lots of territory since 1969. Like a lot of other ADXA members, I have quite a few of the cards in your collection.
I worked Abbas, EP2ABS, on 10M CW this morning and I thought of your activity from Iran years ago. Didn’t you mentioned that you met Roger Western, G3SXW (SK), while you were in Tehran in the 70’s? For those of you who may not be familiar with G3SXW, he was one of the founding members of the VooDoo Contest Group, The VooDoo’s formed in the late 1980s and were a very successful in the CQ WW CW Contests. Check out the book “Contesting in Africa”, Multi-Multi on the Equator, by Roger, G3SXW. It is a great read. The Voodoo’s gave out a lot of ATNOs and band multipliers from Western Africa over the years.
Looking forward to your next trip…..we will all be competing for one of your unique prizes!

Pat, W5VY

If you're curious about my operations from 1969 to 2018, you can check them
all out at:
It was interesting when my friend Jean-Michel (F2AJA) told me about this "globe
trotters" addition to their wonderful QSL site. If you're interested in old
QSLs/Operations, this is a neat place to scroll through!
Hope to add a few more in the future....if you have any questions/
comments, let me know.
