Subject: [ADXA] My simple thoughts about 3Y0 - Hope many ATNOs for ADXA members

I will honor the 3Y0J team request to NOT work their Bouvet trip on a band that you already have confirmed from any past operation from there. I want to be fair and not calling on top of our local ADXA members close to me.

I need 3Y0 on 30m and 15m of the 4 bands they will operate on. So that limits me to calling only on 15m during the short peak time before their sunset there at about 2100Z when darkness begins to prohibit upper band propagation. So I will have 00-04Z to try to get them on 30m with my short vertical and 100 watts barefoot … NO way, especially with the deliberate QRM from everywhere in the world by non-DXers or some DXers who don’t know how to work him; calling when, where and how, and then they too get upset and frustrated.

(1)  I have past confirmations on 14-28 except for 21mc. So I will ‘chase’ on that HF band. I like to chase on a particular band but NOT have to have a SSB and CW QSO for each band/modes, etc. One band contact is all I need, SSB or CW the way I stand now.

(2)  No confirmations on 160-30m, limits me to 30m only, since they are not on 40m at this time. So I may listen and HOPE they work many stations on 30m, and I might have a chance later, but I fear the possible limited days and rigs (3) will prevent me from doing anything on 30m except to listen and hope.

Good luck to our ADXA members to at least get 3Y0J for an ATNO first and maybe later another band or two, regardless of the mode! Just hope the team there can stay a few more days than now expected due to bad weather and that another rig or two will allow operation on 4 bands at one time. That should limit deliberate QRM to some extent. 🤢

73 all,

San K5YY
