ADXA Folks,
It would be very silly of me to ask if you've been keeping up with the Bouvet progress!!! We're all glued to the DX outlets waiting for "BREAKING NEWS" more than the other national/state news (fake news?). As DX'ers, that's what we do...we have our priorities right!!!! :-))
The Bouvet team is doing the right thing, focusing on getting the camp established in a very secure manner before they attempt any operation. If you've ever seen video from the Peter 1 DXpedition you know the extreme conditions they must work in, even on what appears to be a sunny day on Bouvet. Its a very hard and difficult job however rest assured once the camp is established and everything is ready to go, the excellent ops on this DXpedition will be EVERYWHERE, just like Santa Claus.
I have no specific insight into when they will fire up, however I expect it at anytime. I hope you are ready, you've had plenty of time to prepare!!!
Mother Nature, though, threw a WHAMMY to some with the ice storm the past few days. Earl, N5ZM, got really whacked with ice. Hopefully the predicted increase in temperatures today will ease the pain. Fortunately here in the Searcy area and up in Batesville at K5EJ we received mostly sleet. A lot of it, but not as bad as if it had all been freezing rain. Temps reached 34 degrees here yesterday and the iced up and frozen rotors all eased up and are running again (but I already had them all turned to 3Y).
So ADXA folks, be on HOT STANDBY for 3Y0J to fire up at any minute. When they do, you want what to do:
GET IN THERE AND WORK 'EM !!!!!!!!!!!!
