Hi Pat,
Many of us were there at the Long Star DX gig and I remember Earl getting that DX Hog of the Year award! Bill W5SJ and other Fort Smith DXers were at that meeting! Bill could have been a Long Star DX officer during that time? Anyway it was a nice get-together! Wished I had taken a ton of pictures of everyone back then!
I wonder what that year was? I sure don’t remember. Around the early 2000 or so?? Maybe late 90s??
Congrats Earl!

Subject: [ADXA] New Member Standings for Earl, N5ZM
Earl, N5ZM, one of the original holders of the ADXA “DX Hog” award, has provided updated DXCC standings information. Earl is up in the 2900 range of the Desoto Challenge and new band multipliers don’t pop up very often. He has added a new one on 80M (290) and 12M (334) plus two new entities on 6m (118). His new Desoto Challenge total is now 2933. Earl’s adds that, even though no one is counting, he has 153 confirmed on 60M now. Earl worked FT8WW on FT8 to bump his Digital total to 338. Of the 338 digital, 337 are RTTY. He was hoping FT8WW might run RTTY a little. Based on what we saw that might have been mayhem! The CW pile ups were rough enough. Earl now needs only Bouvet and Scarborough Reef to wrap up the Digital #1 Honor Roll. There is only one holder of #1 Digital Honor Roll, JA1JAN.
In addition to the ADXA Hog award I seem to recall the Lone Star DX Association naming him the “Hog” one year at their annual meeting/banquet. Also, a DXpedition that Bob, K4UEE, led, named Earl the leaderboard “Hog”….. all the boxes checked! Earl has lots of experience “rooting around” for DX.
