Subject: [ADXA] 160 ARRL TEST

                  ARRL 160-Meter Contest – 2022

Just a quick note about the Top Band Contest.  Only wkd Rick, K5UR.  Where was everyone else?

I have a great memory of when really no one considered top band. And then K5YY worked 100 countries and that was a very, VERY big deal.

And, since we ADXA members really kept in contact on 75 m, K5UR let us know one time ( approx. 1977-79) that he was in the ARRL 160 m
Contest.  So what….we all thought.  Nobody was on 160 M except San.  WELL, Rick let all of us know to please, please get on and work him. I did not have an antenna for the band but tied my 80 Meter inv vee together, and stuffed the resultant wire into the back of the T4XC and called K5UR to get one more contact for K5UR…as I recall, RICK WON THAT CONTEST!  Give us the real scoop, Rick and see my modest score from the weekend, below

Sri to miss the annual weekend -  will not let that happen again!!!

I have a modest station with no receiving antennae but I was pleased with my Inverted L and 1 KW.  Excellent conditions and nice to hear old friends on the air.
