How funny Dennis!   I worked ole P5KIM on 17m about a year ago.  Thought it was very funny!  He had a heck of a pileup, my log started barking at me for working that call, hi.  Something about not being a legit operation or something like that.

However LB4BDXer, I did run across a real P5 on 10m SSB, I didn’t know it at the time how rare that one was going to be.  Karma or something told me to work that one.  Glad I did, but it was only one mode/band.  I will take it.  😊

Back in those days I just loved to be on 10m and most of the time on QRP rig that I had built.  Good times!

Heck, I can’t even find my old baseball cards!  Surely, some of them are worth millions, or maybe at least enough to buy a cup of coffee at Mcdonald’s.

I’m pretty sure i won’t find any QSLs but I am still missing a logbook from about 79-83.  We lived three different places in that period, but it is here somewhere.

I’m not worried, though - I modeled the collinear orthogonal stacked Hertzian extended double Zeppo’s for 30 meters and gain is about 37 dbi.   I expect I’ll be so loud in North Korea that Kim himself will issue himself a license and work me to shut me up.  Or - a nice dipole up 50 feet could work, also :)

For 80 meters, a 3 element yagi on a 200 ft tower should get me up the ladder.  Or maybe an inverted L over a big pine tree.  I’ll decide that one after hearing Joel’s talk :)

I saw mine arrive a couple days ago as well.  Bumped me up a few more notches.  Will have new stats to send to Pat before long.
