The quick answer is yes you can import your station log, BUT JTA will only import the modes it's familiar with, so no SSB/CW/RTTY or anything else that's not part of WSJTx family.

I go about everything in a convoluted method using Excel spreadsheets.  I copy and paste all the LoTW forms showing confirmations into many tabs in Excel.  I then compare them to the various screens in JTA.  I move countries into the "Not Needed" (left side) of JTA's pages one by one.  As time marched on, I added more tabs and more spreadsheets, so I can just bring up whatever I want to see without going to LoTW.  Having said that, what I do is not for the weak of heart.  I am always adding tabs to break out data another way and even new spreadsheet books for other purposes and then link them together.  And I'm on LoTW from early in the morning to late at night every day.

If I should do an import of my HRD LB into JTA, I will lose all those DXCC confirmations that are not WSJTx modes, so I don't do that.

I have never tried it.  Can you upload your entire log into it so it/you
can tell if it is a needed digital/band country, etc.?  I understand you
can upload your WSJT log into but it would be interesting to know if you
needed something that wasn't in the WSJT log.
