So the Russian DX contest is in two weeks.  It is sponsored by the SSR, which I believe is the national body of amateur radio in Russia, similar to the ARRL here.  I wonder if the IARU will recommend some sort of boycott from its member societies?  This would be a much stronger statement than "punishing " individuals since the SSR is a government sanctioned body.  I really thought we were done with this kind of stuff.

Well, we made it through the Cold War.  In any event, a tragedy.

Not a hack - there was a very strong statement from the owner of QRZ.com about why he was doing it.  He made some  good points about Russian aggression, but  he caught a lot of heat about it and I guess  he was convinced that it was not punishing the ones who need punishing.

I know the ARRL is catching some flak for allowing Russian hams to participate in the DX Contest when Ukrainians are not allowed to.  However, that is the decision of the government of Ukraine, to shut down ham radio for 30 days.

Noticed this earlier today and then saw it on Daily DX.  QRZ is blocking look ups to Russia stations
