Not a hack - there was a very strong statement from the owner of QRZ.com about why he was doing it.  He made some  good points about Russian aggression, but  he caught a lot of heat about it and I guess  he was convinced that it was not punishing the ones who need punishing.  

I know the ARRL is catching some flak for allowing Russian hams to participate in the DX Contest when Ukrainians are not allowed to.  However, that is the decision of the government of Ukraine, to shut down ham radio for 30 days.
