Wow Stan you're getting OLD !!!!!
OK, for you guys who don't know the rest of the story, Stan and I were Novices during the same time and then were active on what was the "Arkansas Teenage Net". We met in the afternoon on 75 meters before the Razorback Net. There was a pretty good group of us "teenage" guys back then in the very early 70's.
But back to the point, he his old.......he's one year older than me !!!!! :-))) No "kid" comments needed from you REALLY OLD guys on this reflector!!!! :-))

Stan, K5VR, has provided updated DXCC standings information. Stan has finished 5BDXCC with two WARC bands to boot. He finished off his last ones on 10M last month. He’s already working on 160M DXCC. He has 45 confirmed with his Inverted Vee. Stan is also chasing on 12M with prop making some improvement.
There was quite a bit of chatter on the reflector about length of time in the hobby. Stan hit the 50 year mark in September. He says he owes his interest in amateur radio to his Grandfather, K5VRC, who got his license when Stan was two years old in 1959. Stan’s grandfather elmer’d a number of new hams in Crawford County including our own Ken, K5ALQ; Red, K5ALU-SK; and K5WVC – now K4JRR. Stan spent a lot of time in his grandfather's shack/radio-tv repair shop. He also attending club meetings and went on Field Day outings No wonder he got “infected”!
Stan reports he will turn 65 in March and join the ranks of the retired. With retirement and rising solar activity Stan will be snagging lots of new ones.
Try not to slide into the ditch this weekend. Looks like some will have snow or mixed precip.

Pat, W5VY
