I have check 4 sources and find nothing about a JT1ANI being on the air. Work him and hope a quick in and out operator was allowed a short time permission. I would say a pirate until more info supports a valid operation. You never know!

  W3UR will know as quick as anyone. A good catch if for real, Lanny… I need a JT on 40m, any mode. Dating way back, have it on the WARC bands and RTTY. The 160m cw was with JT0APE (UZ3AZO) Nov. 11, 1985. Initially I thought he was a pirate. Nope.

I was called by and completed an FT8 contact with JT1ANI in the middle of a string of JA’s calling me.  -20/-22, but a 73 at the end!  Guess I’ll have to wait and see!
