Years ago when I started working from home I invested $500 or so in a Herman Miller Aeron chair. After 10 years of use daily -- I roll it from the office desk across the room to hamshack desk -- it still looks like new and is the most comfortable office chair out there.

Need something with good lumbar support and one that will last. See DXers recommend gaming chairs. On the other hand a study wooden straight back chair is usually comfortable for me for short stints.
